⒈ 史学家。字诚之，江苏武进人。十六岁起自学古史典籍，从事中国古代史研究。后在多所大学任教，并任中华书局、商务印书馆编辑。1921年出版《白话本国史》，是较早的一部有系统的中国通史。建国后，任华东师范大学教授。著作编为《吕思勉史学论著》。
